TennisRank ("we", "us", or "our") operates the TennisRank website and browser extension. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What We Collect
The TennisRank browser extension only reads data when you explicitly click the extension icon to start a sync. It does not collect anything automatically or while you browse. When you initiate a sync, it reads the following from the league pages:
- Match results, scores, and court assignments from league scorecards you navigate to
- Player names and team rosters associated with those matches
- Player rating information available on league standings pages
The extension does not collect passwords, payment information, browsing history outside of league pages, or any personally identifiable information beyond player names that appear in league records.
How We Use It
Data collected by the extension is sent to TennisRank servers at tennisrank.app and used solely to:
- Build and display match history and statistics on player, team, and flight profile pages
- Calculate dynamic ratings based on match results
- Power the search and scouting features on tennisrank.app
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Data Storage
Match data is stored on secured servers. We retain data as long as it is useful for providing the service.
Extension Permissions
The TennisRank Chrome extension requests the following permissions:
- tabs — used to monitor tab navigation so the extension icon updates to reflect whether the current page is supported, and to manage the background tab used during a sync session.
- scripting — used to read match data from the DOM of league pages after you initiate a sync.
- windows — used to restore focus to your original browser window after the sync tab is opened in the background.
The extension only activates on the specific league site domains listed in its host permissions. It does not read or interact with any other websites.
Your Choices
The extension only syncs data when you explicitly click the extension icon. It does not run automatically or in the background without your action. You can uninstall the extension at any time from your browser's extension settings.
